Dear Friends, Neighbors and Interested Parties:

We are writing to update you on the revised plans for the new St. Joseph Center, located at 204 Hampton Drive, and to notify you of the public open houses planned for December to update our neighbors regarding this project.

In response to our discussions with the public, City staff, and the Council office, St. Joseph Center redesigned the proposed building to reduce the massing of the building along Hampton Drive and to open the project to the street. We have included revised conceptual drawings with this letter. We hope you will agree that this redesigned building is an improvement. Please note we are still working on the design of the faÁade, landscaping, and parking lot. We also have included answers to many of the frequently asked questions about the project.

There will be three open houses to further explain this project. The first will be hosted by Temple Mishlikon Tephilo at 201 Hampton Drive, and will be on Wednesday, December 3 at 7:30 p.m.; the second will be in the current St. Joseph Center offices at 204 Hampton Drive on Friday, December 5 at 7:30p.m.; and the third will be held at the St. Joseph Center offices on Sunday, December 7 at 2:30 p.m. We will have drawings available for your review and the St. Joseph development team will be there to hear your comments and ideas regarding this project.

The continued hearing before the Area Planning Commission will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at 4:30p.m. at 11214 West Exposition Blvd. Any written comments on the project must be received by the Area Planning Commission by Monday, December 8, 2003.

The enclosed materials and additional materials will be available for review at the St. Joseph offices at 204 Hampton Drive, at the Venice Public Library and on the St. Joseph Center website at www.stjosephctr.org.
